I’ve known Bob for 12 years and while he is a man of few words, his passions run deep and the Boiling Pot restaurant in Rockport, TX is truly one of his favorites. It’s a hole-in-the-wall, tin roof shack next to the fishing docks that serves boils on brown paper table cloths. I finally got the chance to try it after all these years of hearing how wonderful it is…..and of course HE WAS RIGHT! When you are on the coast, there is nothing fresher than what comes right out of the water all around you. We had fresh shucked oysters and a boil… unfortunately they were out of crawfish (remember to eat there on a Saturday not a Sunday during peak season as the crawfish goes fast apparently) but we still enjoyed everything else they could cram into the pot! It included blue crab, stone crab, shrimp, corn, potatoes and fresh boiling spices. One word…..AMAZING!!
